Impact ejecta

Target materials, regardless of their physical state, that are transported beyond the rim of the transient cavity. In complex craters, therefore, ejecta deposits occur in the crater rim region interior to the final crater rim (Osinski et al. 2011). This term does not carry any genetic connotation.
