Stony meteorites predominately made of rock-forming (silicate) minerals, though most do have a metallic phase present, most stony meteorites are more than 70% are made up of silicate minerals. This group of meteorites makes up for 95% of all meteorite finds and are the most diverse group of three main types of meteorites.
