Notes
- Well preserved with some ejecta remaining beyond the rim. Pre-impact surface was very similar to the present surface beyond the ejecta deposits (Fudali et al., 1980).
- Dimensions from diagram of (Fredriksson et al., 1973) (Fudali et al., 1980).
- Almost circular depression with an uplifted rim contains a broad, shallow saline lake. Another depression, 300 m in diameter, occurs to the N of Lonar (Fredriksson et al., 1973).
- High Ni, Cr, and Co abundances in [spherules] indicate that the impactor was a chondrite (Misra et al., 2009).
- (Schaal and Horz, 1977) (Fredriksson et al., 1979) (Fel'dman et al., 1985) Vesiculation via (Bender-Koch and Ferrow, 2006). "Broken and twisted plagioclase feldspars, irregular fracturing, planar fractures, possibly partly lsotroplc phases, while some basalts are strongly oxidized, and all these features can very well be attributed to an impact phenomenon" (Nayak, 1972)."
- Blocks with "crude shatter coning" occur in coarse breccia (Fredriksson et al., 1973). [Shatter cones questionable] Poorly developed shatter cones (Fel'dman et al., 1985).
- PDF in plagioclase grains (Fredriksson et al., 1979) (Fel'dman et al., 1985) and in other minerals (Fredriksson et al., 1979) (Masaitis et al., 1980).
- Not in literature.
- Coesite in some glass samples (Dolgov et al., 1986) (Jaret et al., 2017).
- Stishovite in some glass samples (Dolgov et al., 1986).
- Melt-bearing breccias as crater-fill (Newsom et al., 2013) in (Osinski and Pierazzo, 2013). Two layers of proximal ejecta: melt-bearing breccias with spherules and shocked basalt clasts, as discontinuous patches up to 1 m thick and found up to 600 m away. Melt-free monomict lithic breccias below MB with unshocked basalt fragments. (Newsom and Boslough, 2008) (Newsom et al., 2013) in (Osinski and Pierazzo, 2013). Spherules recorded in melt-bearing breccias by (Frederiksson et al., 1973) (Misra et al., 2009). Basalt breccias found in drill core (Hagerty and Newsom, 2003). Melt Rock (Osae et al., 2005) (Newsom et al., 2008). Glass recorded in melt-bearing breccias by (Frederiksson et al., 1973). Tektite-like bodies found by (Murali et al., 1987) but were later disproven by (Fudali and Frederiksson, 1992). Suevite (Koeberl et al., 2004). Ejecta deposits (Milton and Dube, 1977) (Ray et al., 2017).
